EDIT: This is a leaked report. I am leaking this out from a source I know at Google.
I’ve got a first hand report from a trusted source that Google is working on 3D YouTube versions in 2015 for the Google Cardboard. This has not been released to the public yet, although it sounds like some thing along the lines of the next iteration of YouTube for wearable displays, like the Oculus Rift or the Samsung Gear VR.

There are two version. One is for the Google Cardboard and the other is for the Red and Blue glasses that people have used with 3D for a while. The proposition of using Red and Blue glasses only to get 3D YouTube is awesome, but I’m more interested in the Google Cardboard YouTube VR app. They’ll both be coming in 2015.
While some YouTube videos are in 3D, I could see that application possible displaying a huge screen floating in Virtual Reality that you could view content on, perhaps even at higher resolutions than your computer monitor or display, like 4K. I’ll let you know if any further details emerge.

Also noticed at the preview, which was meant for only Google internal employees, was a new method of Video Search, although no further details are given than that. YouTube for the Google Cardboard, or YouTube VR, will be awesome, I can’t wait to see it!
EDIT: Another important detail is that the 3D viewing will only require Red and Blue Classes, not anything more than that or even cardboard! Pretty neat, I can’t wait to see a picture of it! I’ll up date this post if I get one.
