The story about the Windows 10 vulnerabilities and updates have been all over the news. Microsoft is urging Windows 10 users to update their operating systems immediately. Microsoft says there are “potentially hundreds of millions of vulnerable computers.”
What Does This Mean?
The systems that have not been patched (updated) are wormable. This means that these computers could spread viruses and malware without any action from the user.
What Should You Do?
Update Windows 10 immediately. You might have already installed the update if you have automatic updates turned on. You should double check to make sure the updates have been installed. To do this, click on the Start button, then click on Options – Update & Security – Windows Update and click the Check for Updates button.
GetMorePC Managed Users Have No Fear
If you are a GetMorePC Managed Service account we have you covered. Your updates have already been applied if your computer has been turned on within the past week. Automatic patch management is one of the many perks of GetMoreCare.
If you are still running Windows 7 this does not affect you. However, you need to be looking into upgrading to Windows 10 soon. As we talked about in our last post support for Windows 7 will be ending in January 2020. This means that there will be no patches available for issues like this unless you pay a fee for those patches.
