So I wanted to do an actual full-length blog post to talk about how busy I’ve been. I’ve had multiple websites to build, tons of computers to fix, and I keep running into a virus/malware issue that looks like fake antivirus. In a couple of cases, the Scareware has said that hardware, including the hard drive, of a computer is bad, and that it could fix it for $59.99. This struck me as funny, because how could software fix hardware? If a hard drive is bad, then it needs to be replaced, right? Another thing this malware did was make all the user’s files hidden on the main drive, so it looked like everything had been erased. What a mess, but I’ve gotten pretty quick at straightening this out. The only link I’ve observed is that all the affected users had yahoo accounts and the yahoo toolbar.
The Google Music Beta Invite has been pretty cool. I’ve got a lot of music up there, but I hope to get more up there soon. Its nice to be able to just pull up a web browser and listen to music in a tab, however I’ve noticed the application is kind of a memory and processor hog. Hopefully Google can make it as quick as their browser.
I was an affected user of the Playstation network hack, but I only had one credit card and it was expired. I was able to change my password and login to the Playstation network.
I’ve really been at a loss since my technician, Mr. Daniel Gentry, went and had his baby this week. I’ve had to do the job of two techs, which has worn me out. Hopefully I’ll get him back next week. Thanks to everyone who has stuck with reading the blog and I promise to have some more content next week for you to devour! Give me some ideas of what to write in the comments section.
Would you know anyone in the area that fixes PS3 YLOD?
Bob, I found this video, hope it helps!
